Have you ever wondered what attracts a true beautician? The answer is ‘Ugliness’. Ugliness triggers his passion to make it beautiful. Ugliness is the raw material of a true beautician. His eyes alone can see beauty in ugliness. He takes what is ugly and applies his wisdom and skill on it and makes it beautiful. Like a beautician makes you beautiful and shows yourself to you in the mirror Jesus too makes you spiritually beautiful and shows yourself to you so that YOU WILL LOVE YOURSELF. When we say we are ugly Jesus says, “Give your ugliness to me and wait and see what beauty I will make of you”. He says in the Bible, “Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool”. (Isaiah 1:18)
There was a girl who felt she was ugly. She went deep into her ugliness in frustration. I went to her and told her “If you remove Jesus from my heart I will be 10 times uglier than you are.” I said, “Jesus can make you a beautiful and charming person by filling your mind with peace and your heart with joy – a peace that the world can never give”. That girl was touched by the Holy Spirit that day when she agreed to try Jesus and her days after that were wonderful. Before the eyes of all the self-righteous and proud people who called her ugly God made her more beautiful than them. It was a marvelous transformation.
The Holy Spirit will use the truths of God to set you free (Romans 8:32). He then will work on you with truths and love and change your mind and heart with those truths. He will decorate your life with freedom and joy. That is why the Bible says that we are his handiwork. (Ephesians 2:10). The Holy Spirit will start a good work in you (Philippians 1:6) – the beautifying work in you and make you marvel at yourself. Come to the beautician as you are and become more beautiful. You will love yourself. Then you will love the one who made you like this. Then you will love others as you love yourself i.e. you will want others to0 to go through the beauty process that you went through. If you are feeling ugly; come to Jesus He brings beauty from ashes.
